Inese Šteina has served as the Director of the Insolvency Control Service of Latvia since 2017, leading transformative reforms that have positioned Latvia as a leader in the digitalisation and transparency of the insolvency sector. Under her leadership, Latvia has fully reformed the insolvency administrators profession, introducing examinations, inspections, and robust supervisory frameworks, while implementing a fully digitised insolvency system. These initiatives have significantly strengthened creditor confidence and enhanced the overall business environment.
With over 16 years of senior management experience in supervisory institutions, Mrs. Šteina has specialised in insolvency and European Union funds, combining deep technical knowledge with strategic vision. She holds a Masters degree in Economics and is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), underscoring her commitment to the highest standards of integrity and compliance.
