Monaheng Monaheng - Registrar of Companies, Lesotho

Monaheng has been appointed to the Office of Registrar of Companies in 2016. Back then, Registrar was only responsible for Registration of Businesses while the insolvency leg was handled by the Office of Master of the High Court.

With the development of Insolvency Act, 2022 the Office of Registrar was mandated to handle corporate and other entities insolvency, and the Master would handle individual bankruptcy. The Registrar officially started corporate insolvency in 2024.

Over and above corporate insolvency, the Registrar is also responsible to oversee business rescue proceedings.

Registrar is currently working on developing the Regulations and guidelines to operationalise the Insolvency Act while at the same time overseeing the digitalisation of insolvency procedures.

He holds a BA in Law, LLB and Masters in Intellectual Property.
