Amira Rasekh - Senior Counsel, International Monetary Fund

Amira Rasekh is a Senior Counsel at the International Monetary Fund. Her work has involved advising different member countries on the legal aspects of NPL resolution strategies, particularly law reform in the areas of insolvency and creditor rights. Most recently, Amira served as the insolvency and creditor rights expert on the IMF team for the Greece 2026 Financial Sector Assessment Program. Amira has published frequently in the area of insolvency and creditor rights.

Prior to joining the IMF in 2015, Amira worked as a banking lawyer at top-tier law firms in Frankfurt, Munich and Cairo. Amira holds a PhD in Financial Regulation and an LLM degree in Finance from the University of Frankfurt, and an LLB degree from the University of Cairo.
