Dato' Ishak Bakri, Director General of Insolvency, The Malaysian Department of Insolvency
Dato’ Ishak Bakri, Director General of Insolvency Malaysia, brings over 30 years of experience in law and the judiciary. He began his career in 1993 as a legal and judicial officer and has served as a Judge and Chairman of Advisory Board, Prime Minister Department on matters relating to detention without trial.
A law graduate from International Islamic University of Malaysia and a qualified lawyer, he had a chance to participate at the INSOL Asia Pacific Conference in Hong Kong, INSOL General Meeting and Forum in Auckland, New Zealand and Meeting of Group of 30 International Insolvencies in the Financial Sector in London, in 1997.
Recently, Dato’ Ishak Bakri also participated in the conference “Criminal Justice Responses to Returning or Repatriated Foreign Terrorist Fighters” in Malta, where he presented a paper titled: “Considering appropriate alternative measures for high- and at-risk individuals, including human rights considerations and international standards.” He also participated in learning course on Human Rights And Environment In the Framework of Agenda 2030 in Bangkok, Thailand and delivered speech on the topic : Women’s Human Rights and the right to a Safe, Clean, Healthy and Sustainable Environment during 2017 Annual Judicial Dialoque of South East Asian Judges, Bangkok, Thailand.
