Dean has worked in the insolvency industry for over 20 years. He was an Official Receiver, acting as a trustee in bankruptcy and liquidator of companies, for five years. In addition to his public sector experience, Dean has also spent time in the private sector as a forensic accountant investigating fraud and managing commercial disputes. Prior to be appointed as Chief Executive for the Insolvency Service, Dean was its Director of Strategy and Change, overseeing policy development, regulation of the insolvency sector and leading the department’s transformation programme. As CEO, Dean has led some of the largest insolvency cases dealt with by the agency including British Steel and Thomas Cook.
