Dean Beale

Dean has worked in the insolvency field for over 20 years in a variety of roles. He has been an Official Receiver, acting as trustee in bankruptcy and liquidator in over 5,000 insolvency cases, and has undertaken many insolvency-related investigations. In addition to his public sector experience, Dean is an accountant and previously worked for a Big 4 firm specialising in forensic accounting, fraud and commercial disputes.
In his current role, Dean is head of insolvency policy at the Insolvency Service, one of the largest public sector insolvency bodies in the world. As well has overseeing the development of domestic insolvency policy, Dean leads the teams negotiating EU insolvency issues and heads the UK delegation at the UNCITRAL insolvency working group.
Dean has been an IAIR executive committee member for 3 years and has contributed many times to the annual conference, leading workshops on topics such as the reform of insolvency practitioner regulation and the use of schemes of arrangement to restructure insolvent companies.
Dean has worked in the insolvency field for over 20 years in a variety of roles including as an Official Receiver and as the accountant for the Insolvency Services Account. In addition to his public sector experience, Dean spent  three years in the private sector as a forensic accountant. In his current role, he is head of insolvency policy which includes international insolvency issues.
Dean leads the team currently negotiating the reform of the European Insolvency Regulation and heads the UK delegation to UNCITRAL.
